Sam Houston State 88, Lamar 52

HUNTSVILLE, Texas (AP) -- James Barrett scored 18 points and
Aaron Wade added 16 to help lead Sam Houston State to an 88-52
victory over Lamar on Monday night.

Shamir McDaniel scored 12 points and C.J. Hadley added 11 for
the Bearkats (11-6, 3-1 Southland).

Wade and Hadley each hit three 3-pointers and Barrett and
McDaniel each made two as Sam Houston made 40 percent of its
3-pointers.

Darren Hopkins scored 22 points, including four 3-pointers. He
was the only player in double figures for the Cardinals (7-10,
1-2). James Davis, who had been averaging 18 points per game, was
held to three by Sam Houston State.

Sam Houston never trailed in the game and led 45-27 at
halftime.
