Canisius 84, Marist 74

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) -- Frank Turner scored a career-high 24 points to lead Canisius over Marist 84-74 Saturday in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.

Turner shot 8-for-12 from the floor and had seven assists, while Darnell Wilson added 18 points and five rebounds and Chuck Harris scored 15 points off the bench for Canisius (9-10, 4-5).

Jared Jordan led Marist (14-5, 6-2) with 17 points and 11 assists, but shot 6-for-20 from the floor and converted just one of eight 3-point attempts. Ben Farmer added 11 points, Shae McNamara grabbed 10 rebounds and Will Whittington scored 16 points.

Marist started slowly, making just two of its first 10 shots, while Canisius made five 3-pointers in building a 44-34 halftime lead.

The Red Foxes cut the lead to four with a 7-2 run to open the second half. But Wilson and Turner each helped spark a 14-4 run to put the game away.

Marist shot 38 percent for the game, while the Golden Griffins shot 54.9 percent from the field.
