OLEAN, N.Y. (AP) -- Marcus Johnson scored 13 points to help lead Dayton to a 69-62 win over St. Bonaventure Saturday afternoon.
A 17-3 run by Dayton (16-8, 6-5 Atlantic 10), punctuated by a Johnson fast break dunk, in the early stages of the second half gave the Flyers a 41-34 lead that they would not relinquish.The Flyers shot 19-for-26 (73 percent) from the field in the second half. St. Bonaventure (6-18, 3-8 A-10) dropped its fourth consecutive game and, after nine attempts, Dayton got its first road win of the year.The Bonnies held Brian Roberts, the A-10's second-leading scorer, to a season-low six points, 13 below his season average. A.J. Hawkins led St. Bonaventure with 24 points and Paul Williams added 11.Charles Little and London Warren both scored 10 for the Flyers. St. Bonaventure jumped out to a 17-3 lead at the 11:27 mark behind three 3-pointers by Hawkins, and then scored six points the rest of the half to take a 23-17 lead at halftime. Dayton's 17 first-half points was a season-low.
