CINCINNATI (AP) -- Deonta Vaughn scored 20 points, five of them in overtime, to lead Cincinnati to a 70-67 victory over Seton Hall on Wednesday that ended the Bearcats' longest losing streak in 82 years.
Cincinnati (11-18, 2-13 Big East) had lost 10 in a row, one shy of a school-record 11-game losing streak in 1924-25. No other Cincinnati team has lost 10 straight.
Seton Hall (13-15, 4-11) suffered its sixth loss in its last seven games and was officially eliminated from the Big East tournament.
Vaughn made a 3-pointer with 3:29 left in overtime to snap a 61-61 tie and give the Bearcats the lead for good. He added an 18-foot jumper with 1:37 left to give Cincinnati a 68-63 lead.
Williamson scored on a putback to give Cincinnati a 59-57 lead with 43 seconds left in regulation, but Harvey forced overtime by banking in a shot at the 31.2-second mark. Vaughn lost the ball while trying to get through defenders for a possible game-winning shot in the last 10 seconds.
Vaughn, the Bearcats' leading scorer with a 14.1 average going into the game, scored nine points to help Cincinnati pull ahead 31-24 at halftime. The halftime lead was the Bearcats' first in a Big East game this season and first since they led Miami of Ohio 31-22 on their way to a 60-52 win in the 12th game of their season on Dec. 27.
