TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) -- Jordan Hill had a career-high 17 points as Arizona used its inside game in the second half to beat Adams State 88-64 Wednesday night.
The Wildcats (3-1) struggled with the Division II Grizzlies until they relied on Hill's 11 points after the intermission and inside play from Jamelle Horne, who had 15 overall points.
Rece Hampton led Adams State (2-1) with 23 points.
The Wildcats took control by going ahead 69-55 following a bank shot by Horne, a dunk by Bayless and a short jumper from Hill with 7:05 remaining after Adams State trimmed the deficit to eight.
Horne sealed the victory with a three-point play and a lay-in on back-to-back possessions to increase Arizona's lead to 18 points.
