LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) -- Martin Zeno scored 26 points to lead Texas Tech past TCU 71-58 on Wednesday night, handing the Horned Frogs their first loss of the season.
The Red Raiders (5-2) came from behind after TCU used a 13-4 run early in the second half to go up 48-35. Then Tech crept back slowly.
Zeno hit a bucket with just more than eight minutes remaining to give the Red Raiders their first lead, 56-55. TCU started missing, and failed even to convert on a sure break-away, which Zeno blocked.
Trailing 57-56, the Red Raiders used an 15-1 run to close the game, including a 3-pointer and two free throws by Alan Voskuil and a jumper by Zeno.
There were eight ties and nine lead changes for the game.
Voskuil scored 16 points and Charlie Burgess added 13 for Tech.
TCU used a 13-4 run to start the second half to build their biggest lead of the game, 48-35. But Tech turned it around, using a 15-4 run to pull within 52-50 with just less than 10 minutes remaining.
The Red Raiders got their first lead of the half, 56-55, on a bucket by Zeno.
TCU led 35-29 at the half. The teams traded runs early in the half before TCU used a 12-4 spurt to close the half. The Horned Frogs hit four of seven 3-pointers. They got only three in the second half, finishing 7 of 17.
TCU got 10 points off eight Tech turnovers, while the Red Raiders failed to get any points off the Horned Frogs 11 miscues.
