BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) -- Courtney Lee scored 16 points and Western Kentucky never trailed as the Hilltoppers beat North Carolina Central 84-53 Tuesday night.
Western (8-3) jumped out to a 14-0 lead and were ahead 38-18 over the Eagles (1-13) at halftime.
Charles Futrell scored 15 points to pace Central, which is transitioning from Division II to Division I. Ashton Sauls scored 14 for the Eagles, who shot 17-of-50 (34 percent) for the game to Western's 27-of-55 (49 percent).
The Hilltoppers scored 37 points off 23 Central turnovers and had 38 points in the paint, compared with just 18 for the Eagles.
