STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) -- Terrel Harris scored a game-high 21 points and Oklahoma State staved off a late comeback to beat Texas-San Antonio 73-61 Wednesday night.
Oklahoma State (8-5) scored the first six points of the contest and took a 26-10 lead after going on a 12-0 run midway through the first half. Texas-San Antonio narrowed the gap to 33-21 when junior Joey Shank connected on a 3-pointer with 2:29 left in the period and trailed 37-23 at halftime.
The Cowboys out-rebounded the Roadrunners 21-9 in the first 20 minutes and held them to 30.4-percent shooting.
The Cowboys gained a 51-33 advantage after a layup by sophomore Obi Muonelo but Texas-San Antonio responded with an 11-4 run and cut the lead to 57-48 when Shank hit a trey with 6:01 remaining.
The Roadrunners (6-6) made it a two-possession game, 65-59, when Travis Gabbidon knocked down a shot behind the arc with 1:47 left on the clock But Eaton hit four straight free throws in the final 1:20 to help Oklahoma State seal the victory.
Eaton went 12-of-14 from the charity stripe and has scored in double figures in four consecutive contests for the first time in his career.
Freshman Devin Gibson paced Texas-San Antonio with 19 points, Gabbidon added 15 and Shank recorded 14.
The Roadrunners (6-6) are coached by Brooks Thompson, who competed at Oklahoma State from 1992-94 and was the program's director of basketball operations during the 2001-02 season.
The Cowboys committed a season-high 23 turnovers and were held to a season-low 11 attempts from three-point range.
