ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) -- Jermaine Griffin scored 19 points to help lead Texas-Arlington to an 85-59 victory over Texas-Permian Basin on Wednesday night.
Anthony Vereen had 17 points off the bench for the Mavericks (10-2). Rog'er Guignard added 16 points, including four 3-pointers.
Texas-Arlington began the second half with a 20-3 run, giving them a 58-31 lead. Tommy Moffitt hit two 3-pointers and Rod Epps added another during the run. The Mavericks led by as many as 35 points in the second half.
The Falcons (2-8) were led by Frankie Wheeler's 18 points and 11 rebounds. He was the only player in double figures for Texas-Permian Basin.
Texas-Arlington shot 50 percent from the field for the game, helped by 44 points in the paint. Texas-Permian Basin shot 38 percent for the game and was outrebounded 43-38.
