BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (AP) -- Sophomore forward Shane Hanson scored 23 points, including five three-pointers, as UC Davis held on for a 62-59 victory over Cal State Bakersfield Wednesday.
A dunk, three-pointer and a pair of free throws accounted for a 7-0 UC Davis run midway through the second half as the Aggies opened up a 56-46 lead with 3:59 remaining.
Bakersfield (3-11) made a run in the final minute as a layup and free throw by Donavan Bragg brought the Roadrunners to within three with 27 seconds remaining. But following an Aggie turnover, a trio of three-point attempts to tie the game fell short as time expired.
With the Suns drafting Tyler Ulis, they now have five guards on their roster who attended Kentucky.
