BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) -- Courtney Lee scored 26 points to lead Western Kentucky to an 86-75 win over Louisiana-Monroe Saturday night.
The Hilltoppers (22-6, 14-2 Sun Belt Conference East Division) got off to a sluggish start, trailing the Warhawks (10-18, 4-12 SBC West) for most of the first 10 minutes of the first half.
But Western went on a 14-2 run at the 10-minute mark in the second half to take a 70-59 lead and never looked back. The Hilltoppers led 41-34 at halftime
Western Kentucky coach Darrin Horn said he's seen steady progress in his team throughout the season.
"What this team has done a good job of all year is that we've improved week-to-week along the way," he said.
