GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) -- Jason Wills scored 14 points, including the game-winning dunk with six seconds left, to lead North Carolina A&T to a 72-70 victory over Norfolk State on Thursday night.
Norfolk State trailed 69-62 with 1:10 left when Tony Murphy hit a 3-pointer that pulled the Spartans within four points at 69-65. Corey Lyons hit another 3-pointer with 44 seconds to make the score 69-68.
Wills then made one of two free throws to put the Aggies up 70-68.
With 27 seconds left, Brandon Monroe scored for the Spartans (15-14, 11-5 MEAC) to tie the score at 70-70. Wills then dunked the ball for the final score, which was certain only after Michael Deloach missed a 3-pointer with one second left.
Murphy and Deloach each had 18 points for Norfolk State. Corey Lyons had 11 and Kevin Worsley had 10.
