Battle scores 21 points as Nittany Lions recover lead, upset Purdue
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- Danny Morrissey hated the shot so much as it left his hand that he looked away after the ball bounced high into the air off the rim.He didn't know until he saw teammate Talor Battle's smiling face that the ugly shot turned into a key 3-pointer that helped Penn State hold off No. 14 Purdue down the stretch of a 67-64 victory on Tuesday night.
• The Nittany Lions used a 13-0 run in the second half to put away the Boilermakers and win their seventh straight Big Ten home game.
• Penn State improved to 8-0 in games in which Talor Battle (21 points) scores at least 20.
• This is the first time in which Purdue has opened conference play with consecutive defeats since 2005-06, when they finished with a 3-13 Big Ten record.
