MACOMB, Ill. -- Josh Rivers hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to give Western Illinois a 62-59 victory over South Dakota State on Saturday.
Rivers had 15 points, including three 3-pointers, for Western Illinois (8-16, 5-8 Summit League). David DuBois had 24 points and a game-high eight rebounds while Quenton Kirby added ten points for the Leathernecks.
Western Illinois led 34-27 going into half time, but South Dakota State (10-15, 5-8 Summit League) came back from the break to outscore Western Illinois 32-28 in the second period. The score was tied at 59-59 with a free throw from the Leathernecks' Tommie Tyler with 32 seconds left.
