HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. -- Charles Jenkins scored 15 points and Hofstra had a season-high 13 blocked shots in a 60-51 victory over Old Dominion on Tuesday night, snapping the Monarchs' four-game winning streak.
Nathaniel Lester had 11 points and 10 rebounds for the Pride (16-9, 8-6 Colonial Athletic Association), who came in leading the conference with 5.1 blocks per game. The 13 blocks were one off the school record set twice and were three better than the previous best this season against Stony Brook.
Gerald Lee had 20 points for the Monarchs (15-9, 8-6), who never recovered from shooting 20.6 percent (7-for-34) in the first half as they fell behind 28-19.
Old Dominion, which entered fourth in the CAA in shooting at 44.5 percent, finished at 27.5 percent (19-for-69). Hofstra came in leading the conference in field-goal percentage defense (39.4 percent).
