BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Benson Egemonye had 23 points and eight rebounds, leading Niagara to a 83-76 win over Fairfield on Saturday night.
The Purple Eagles (21-6, 12-3 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) were led by 25 points from Benson Egemonye, while former UConn guard Rob Garrison added 19 to help coach Joe Mihalich secure victory No. 200.
Niagara, which led 39-35 at the break, used a 6-0 run to open the second half and its lead never dipped below five points the rest of the way.
Lyndon Jordan's 3-pointer with 3:38 left pulled Fairfield to within five, 70-65, but the Purple Eagles held the Stags off.
Fairfield (15-12, 8-8) was without four starters, including leading scorer Greg Nero who missed the game due to a back injury.
