CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. -- Stephen Curry scored 43 points to lead Davidson to an 84-68 victory over Appalachian State in the quarterfinals of the Southern Conference tournament Saturday.
Davidson (26-6) led 44-34 at halftime with Curry playing only 10 minutes due to foul trouble. Appalachian State (13-18) pulled within 56-55 with 10:42 to go, but the Wildcats responded with a 10-0 run.
Curry scored 13 of Davidson's last 15 points including a 25-footer just before the shot-clock buzzer with 34 seconds left.
His 43 points is the third-highest individual performance in SoCon tournament history and the most since Marshall's Skip Henderson scored 55 in 1988.
Andrew Lovedale added 17 points and 14 rebounds for the Wildcats, who will face the College of Charleston on Sunday.
Donald Sims led the Mountaineers with 29 points.
