WACO, Texas -- LaceDarius Dunn scored 13 points and Baylor rolled to its third victory in four days to open the season, 61-45 over Southern University on Monday night.

The Bears took control by scoring 13 consecutive points over a five-minute span in the first half, capped when Dunn made two free throws with 9 minutes 51 seconds left to make it 25-10. That came less than a minute after Dunn hit a 3-pointer, with A.J. Walton converting a steal into a breakaway layup between Dunn's scoring plays.

Nick Walls had nine points to lead Southern, which played its season opener. The Jaguars trailed 12-10 when Norm Nixon hit a 3-pointer, but then had four turnovers and only two shots before finally scoring again.

Baylor is 34-0 all-time against teams from the Southwestern Athletic Conference.
