CINCINNATI -- Cincinnati coach Mick Cronin won't let Lance Stephenson talk to the media until Monday. The heralded freshman couldn't wait that long to make a statement.Stephenson scored a season-high 17 points and fellow freshman Cashmere Wright added 12 as No. 19 Cincinnati held off Miami (Ohio) for a 63-59 victory Thursday night."I just came in and played off whatever the defense gave me," said Wright, who missed last season with a knee injury and scored one point in the first half. "I kept making shots."
• Cincinnati used a late 8-0 run to pull away and improve to 12-1 at home in nonconference games over the past two seasons.
• The Bearcats have held five straight opponents under 60 points.
• Lance Stephenson dropped in a career-high 17 points, and the Bearcats won despite shooting a season-low 2 for 12 from 3-point range.
• Miami has lost nine straight road games (0-4 this season) and 14 straight against teams ranked in the AP Top 25.
