South Florida 69, UCF 65

TAMPA, Fla. -- Dominique Jones had 27 points, six rebounds and five steals, leading South Florida to a 69-65 victory over Central Florida on Wednesday night.

Jones, who has 88 points in three career games against UCF, was among four players to score in double figures for USF (8-2). Chris Howard had 14, Mike Mercer 12 and Jarrid Famous 11 for the Bulls, who have won all but one of the past 11 games in the series.

Isaac Sosa had 14 points to lead the Knights (7-3). Freshman guard Marcus Jordan, son of former NBA great Michael Jordan, added a season-high 11.

Leading by a point midway through the first half, USF began a 15-3 run to take its biggest lead of the game at 34-21.

UCF answered with a pair of long jumpers by Sosa to cut the deficit to 34-27 at the break. Sosa hit a 3-pointer at the final buzzer to pull the Knights as close as they would get in the second half.
