Lawal scores 21; Yellow Jackets tough down stretch in upset of No. 5 Duke
ATLANTA -- Georgia Tech was a team on a mission. It showed.Duke was just plain tired. That showed, too.Gani Lawal scored 21 points, including a crucial shot with just over a minute remaining, and Georgia Tech (No. 17 ESPN/USA Today, No. 20 AP) bounced back from a dismal loss with a 71-67 upset of the fifth-ranked Blue Devils on Saturday.
• The Yellow Jackets won for the third time in their last 27 games against Duke, thanks to 21 points from Gani Lawal.
• It's the Yellow Jackets' second win in their last 10 games against Top 10 opponents.
• Jon Scheyer scored 25 points for Duke, meeting his average over his past six games, but Kyle Singler scored just nine points.
