COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- Marland Smith scored 23 points and Southeast Missouri State beat Tennessee Tech 77-75 on Tuesday night.
Neither team led by more than five points in a second half that saw seven ties in the final 12:50. The Redhawks made 5 of 8 free throw attempts in the final 1:30 to preserve the win. It was only the second win in the series in the past 15 games for Southeast Missouri State.
Southeast Missouri State made 44.2 percent (23 of 52) of its field goal attempts while Tennessee Tech made 50 percent (24 of 48). The Redhawks scored 22 points off 18 Golden Eagles turnovers.
