PITTSBURGH -- Isaiah Tate scored seven of his 14 points in the second overtime period to lead George Mason past Duquesne 85-79 in double overtime on Wednesday night.

The Patriots (9-2) led 64-62 with 1:24 remaining, but a layup from T.J. McConnell with 17 seconds left in regulation tied the score at 64 to force the first overtime.

Duquesne forced a second overtime at the free-throw line as Sean Johnson nailed two free throws with 8 seconds left to tie the score at 73, forcing the second extra period.

A layup, a 3-pointer and two free throws from Tate, a 3-pointer from Andre Cornelius and two more free throws from Cam Long were all that the Patriots needed in the second overtime to clinch their seventh consecutive victory.

The Dukes (5-5) were led by Bill Clark with 21 points and McConnell with 19.

Ryan Pearson and Long scored 17 points apiece for George Mason.
