WEST POINT, N.Y. -- Julian Simmons scored 19 points to lead Army over Dartmouth 67-47 on Monday night.
The Black Knights (8-7) shot 59.3 percent in the first half (16 of 27) to take a commanding 44-22 lead at halftime. Army led 12-9 early before going on a 15-2 run, making it 27-11 on Josh Herbeck's 3-pointer with 8:54 to go in the first half.
Army stretched the lead to as many as 23, 62-39, on Chris Welker's jump shot with 6:28 to play.
The Black Knights held Dartmouth (4-9) to 38.5-percent shooting (20 of 52), including 3 of 15 from 3-point range (20 percent). The Big Green made just 1 of 9 from long range in the first half (11.1 percent).
Army took advantage of the poor shooting, winning the rebounding battle 42-25 as Simmons led with nine boards.
The Big Green, who beat Army in the teams' previous meeting this season, 71-68 on Dec. 11, were led by R.J. Griffin with 13 points.
