KENT, Ohio -- Randal Holt scored 22 points on 6-of-8 shooting from beyond the arc and Kent State pulled away from Miami (Ohio) 78-57 on Sunday.
The Golden Flashes (12-7, 3-2 Mid-American Conference) trailed 22-18 after a jumper from Nick Winbush with 8:59 remaining in the opening half. Holt answered with a 3-pointer, sparking a 15-0 run for Kent State, which was aided by seven Miami turnovers.
The RedHawks (8-11, 3-2) turned the ball over 16 times in the first half -- leading to 20 points for the Golden Flashes -- and trailed 39-29 at halftime.
Kent State stretched its lead to its largest of the game, 73-51, with 4:04 left to play.
Rodriguez Sherman scored 14 and Carlton Guyton added 12 for the Golden Flashes, who shot 11 for 23 from 3-point range (47.8 percent).
