Derrick Williams carries No. 13 Arizona past Klay Thompson and Washington State
TUCSON, Ariz. -- When Derrick Williams first injured his pinky, Arizona coach Sean Miller said it would probably take three weeks before he felt comfortable again.Miller was right and his best player was back.
• Derrick Williams had 26 points and eight rebounds to lead Arizona. Williams shot 7 of 10 from the field and made all 12 of his free throws. He leads the nation in field goal percentage (64.0) and free throw attempts (9.2).
• Klay Thompson scored 30 points for Washington State. He's the Pac-10 leading scorer, averaging 21.0 points a game.
• Arizona is 14-0 at home, 11-2 in Pac-10 play and has won seven straight. It's the Wildcats' longest win streak in conference play since 2005.
• Washington State is 2-5 on the road in Pac-10 play.
