TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Kenneth Faried broke Tim Duncan's modern-era NCAA Division I career rebounding record and Morehead State edged Indiana State 71-65 Saturday in a BracketBusters game.
Faried finished with 12 rebounds, giving him 1,576, six more than Duncan collected while at Wake Forest from 1994-97. The 6-foot-8 senior also scored 17 points to lead the Eagles (21-8), who have won nine straight.
Dwayne Lathan led the Sycamores (15-13) with 25 points and 11 rebounds.
Morehead State fell behind 5-0 before taking the lead for good with a 10-0 run. The Eagles went into halftime up 31-26 and held on after making just three field goals in the final 7 minutes. Terrance Hill added 15 points for Morehead State.
