North Carolina's 18-point win Friday night was the third-largest margin of victory in a Sweet 16 or later game under Roy Williams.

• North Carolina closed the first half on a 32-5 run and won its ninth straight game in the NCAA tournament.
• The Tar Heels have won 10 consecutive Sweet 16 games and advanced to their 18th Elite Eight since 1975.
• Tyler Zeller had 27 points and a career-high 15 rebounds and became the first Tar Heel with a 25-15 game in the NCAA tournament since Brendan Haywood in 2000.
• Marquette shot 36.5 percent from the field, its third-worst shooting performance of the season.
