NEWARK, N.J. -- Chris Flores had 13 points, leading 13 different players who tallied points for New Jersey Institute of Technology in a 78-28 rout of Division III Polytechnic on Sunday.

Sammy Shickel was the only other player to score in double figures for the Highlanders (1-2), notching 10 points.

The Highlanders outshot the Blue Jays 49.1 percent (27 of 55) to 22.5 percent (9 of 40) from the field, including a 9 of 26 mark from 3-point range (34.6 percent). Flores led NJIT with a 4 of 7 performance from long range.

The Blue Jays shot only 3 of 16 from 3-point range (18.8 percent).

NJIT outscored Polytechnic 39-14 in both halves, starting the contest on an 18-0 run, and was never threatened. Isaiah Wilkerson scored seven of his nine points in that spree.
