Steve Lavin misses St. John's win over St. Francis (N.Y.)

NEW YORK -- D'Angelo Harrison scored a season-high 21 points and St. John's had its first good game from beyond the 3-point line in a 63-48 victory over St. Francis (N.Y.) on Tuesday night.

Harrison finished 4 of 5 from 3-point range and the Red Storm (4-2) were 6 of10, much improved over their 3-of-8 effort against Arizona, their only game shooting better than 30 percent from beyond the arc this season.

Moe Harkless added 18 points for St. John's, while Sir'Dominic Pointer had 10.

Red Storm coach Steve Lavin missed his second game of the season as he continues to recover from prostate cancer surgery on Oct. 6. He missed the season opener, then was on the bench for four games, including two losses to ranked teams in as many days at the 2K Sports Classic benefiting Coaches vs. Cancer. The school said he was on a recruiting trip the next two days and he was continuing to follow a modified schedule.

Stefan Perunicic had 13 points for the Terriers (0-4), who still have five games left on their season-opening road trip.
