ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Phil Martin made a driving layup with 13 seconds left to help UC Riverside beat Washington State 64-63 in Sunday's seventh-place game of the 76 Classic.

Martin finished with 14 points, including nine straight during a key run in the second half. The Highlanders trailed by 14 with 7:05 remaining.

Harrison Gaines had 13 points and Elliott Berry added 10 for Riverside (2-4). The Highlanders had lost four straight.

After Riverside took its first lead on Gaines' baseline runner, DaVonte Lacy stole the ball from Martin at midcourt and completed a three-point play with 35 seconds remaining to put Washington State back in front, 63-62.

Brock Motum scored 15 points and Faisal Aden had 14 for the Cougars (2-4), who made their first five shots for a 13-3 lead.
