NEWARK, Del. -- Devon Saddler scored 30 points and Jamelle Hagins tallied a double-double, leading Delaware to a 71-60 win over Drexel Saturday in the Colonial Athletic Association opener for both teams.
Hagins scored 17 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for the Blue Hens (3-3), snapping a three game skid to the Dragons in the all-time series.
The Dragons led 9-6 thanks to Derrick Thomas' layup and 3-pointer on back-to-back possessions, but the Blue Hens would make a game-changing run from that juncture. Saddler knocked down a 3 to tie it, was fouled on the play and sank his bonus shot to put Delaware in front 10-9 with 16:41 left in the first half.
The Blue Hens led the rest of the way.
Saddler has led the Blue Hens in scoring every game this season, scoring 20 or more point in five straight games.
