OREM, Utah -- Holton Hunsaker went 16 for 16 from the free-throw line and scored 26 points Saturday night as Utah Valley defeated Portland State 93-87.
Charles Odum led Portland State (5-3) with 24 points, while Chehales Tapscott and Nate Lozeau had 17 each. Tapscott also had 12 rebounds. Renado Parker, in his first game for the Vikings since gaining eligibility after transferring from Idaho, added 12 points.
A first half that featured 13 ties and 11 lead changes ended in a 39-39 tie. Utah Valley never trailed in the second half, twice building leads as much as 14 points.
Portland State also shot well from the free-throw line, hitting 24 of 30 attempts.
