MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Kahlil Owens scored 11 points, including a go-ahead layup, and came up with a clutch blocked shot to help Morehead State beat Austin Peay 68-64 on Saturday.
Morehead State (7-8, 1-1 Ohio Valley Conference) trailed 64-63 after Josh Terry's two free throws put Austin Peay up with 1:37 to go. Owens then made a layup 22 seconds later, and followed it with a shot block on Terry. Lamont Austin was fouled on Morehead State's ensuing possession and made both free throws to go up 67-64 with 29 seconds left.
Austin Peay (3-12, 0-2) went 0 for 3 from the field the rest of the way and Austin made another free throw.
Terry led the Governors with 24 points and Melvin Baker added 17. Austin Peay was just 2 of 12 from 3-point range.
