BURLINGTON, Vt. -- Clancy Rugg scored a career-high 18 points off the bench and Vermont defeated winless Binghamton 73-53 Thursday night in an America East Conference game.
The Catamounts (9-9, 3-1) won their third straight while the Bearcats (0-16, 0-4) have dropped 17 in a row since losing to Vermont in the quarterfinals of the league tournament last March.
The Catamounts led the whole way, opening up an 18-point lead in the first half. Binghamton did not get into double figures until the 6:58 mark.
The Bearcats opened the second half with an 11-3 run to get to 38-30 with 17:24 remaining, then Vermont pulled away.
