Brian Conklin and Mike McCall Jr. scored 11 points apiece for the Billikens (15-4, 3-2 Atlantic 10), and Kwamain Mitchell and Kyle Cassity had 10 each. Evans also grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds as Saint Louis held its seventh opponent under 50 points.
Eric Evans' 12 points led the Dukes (12-8, 3-3), whose two-game winning streak ended in a contest in which they made just 17 of 55 shots.
After T.J. McConnell's 3-pointer put Duquesne ahead 20-19 with 9:26 left in the first half, Evans finished a 7-2 Saint Louis run with a three-point play for a 26-22 edge with 4:46 to go.
The Billikens stretched it to 37-26 at the break and were not threatened in the second half.
Maryland point guard Melo Trimble, considered a lock to leave the program before struggling in the second half last season, has withdrawn from the NBA draft and will return for his junior season.
Louisville's Chinanu Onuaku, who recently underwent a medical procedure to correct a heart rhythm issue detected during the combine, will keep his name in the NBA draft pool.
