COLUMBIA, Mo. -- Phil Pressey's first 3-point attempt went in off the glass. The sophomore guard, known more for flashy, no-look passes than his outside touch, took that sketchy success and ran with it.
Pressey scored 19 points, making four of No. 4 Missouri's season-best 14 3-pointers, and the Tigers beat No. 6 Baylor 72-57 on Saturday. He had no 3-pointers the previous five games, but stepped up against the slumping Bears."It just happens like that sometimes," Pressey said of his bank shot. "I made it, so that's all that counts."Sixth man Michael Dixon also had four 3-pointers and Marcus Denmon added three for Missouri (23-2, 10-2 Big 12), which shot 50 percent from long range.O'Neil: Telling game for Mizzou, Baylor
For 25 games, the critics have circled, railing about what Missouri isn't. It's now time to discuss what Mizzou is, writes Dana O'Neil. Blog

Prior to this week, the last time Missouri defeated two top-10 teams in the same week was January of 1998 (Kansas, Iowa).
The last time Missouri defeated three top-10 teams in the same SEASON was 1989-90 (7 UNC, 7 Arkansas, and 1 Kansas twice that year). Like this year, the Tigers were themselves ranked in single digits nearly all of that season. | |||||||||||||||||||||
Missouri is now 3-0 this season against top-10 opponents (ESPN/USA Today Coaches' Poll) with 2 wins over Baylor and a win over Kansas. Quite a change for the Tigers after the team was just 1-7 against top-10 teams in the previous 2 seasons combined losing 5 of the games by double-digits.
