LAS CRUCES, N.M. -- Daniel Mullings had 28 points, 12 rebounds, 10 assists and five steals to lead six New Mexico State players scoring in double figures in a 115-73 victory against Hawaii on Thursday night.
Mullings' triple-double was the first for the Aggies (21-8, 8-3 WAC) since 1992 and third in school history. Wendell McKines scored 20 points, Hernst Laroche 16, Tyrone Watson and Bandja Sy 12 each and Tshilidzi Nephawe 10.
New Mexico State's point total was its highest since a 122-105 victory against Texas Tech on Dec. 27, 1996. The 42-point victory margin was its biggest in a league game since joining the WAC in 2005-06 and largest since a 104-62 win against Loyola Marymount on Dec. 28, 2008.
The Aggies shot 60.3 percent (41 of 68) from the floor and scored 38 points off 24 Hawaii turnovers. New Mexico State won the rebounding battle 41-31 and outscored the Warriors 42-22 in the paint.
Forward Kennedy Meeks, who has averaged 9.4 points and 6.5 rebounds at North Carolina, has pulled out of the NBA draft and will return to the Tar Heels.
Cal big man Ivan Rabb could have been selected in the top 10 of the NBA draft. Instead, he's returning to Berkeley to make himself, and the Golden Bears, stronger.
Devin Williams' decision last month to sign with an agent and enter the NBA draft has left West Virginia in a tough spot.
