ALBANY, N.Y. -- Kyle Downey had 28 points and five assists and OD Anosike tallied a double-double to lead Siena over Canisius 86-75 on Sunday in the regular-season finale for both teams.
The Saints (13-16, 8-10 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) dominated inside, outrebounding Canisius 45-29 and outscoring the Golden Griffins 40-28 in the paint.
Anosike had 16 points to go with his 16 rebounds for Siena, which swept the season series after beating Canisius 60-50 on Feb. 11.
The Saints held Canisius to 30.3-percent shooting in the first half (10 of 33) and led 46-29 at halftime. They then opened the second half on an 8-3 run and led by double digits throughout most of the rest of the way. Kyle Downey's free throws put Siena up 54-32 with 17:12 remaining.
Maryland point guard Melo Trimble, considered a lock to leave the program before struggling in the second half last season, has withdrawn from the NBA draft and will return for his junior season.
Louisville's Chinanu Onuaku, who recently underwent a medical procedure to correct a heart rhythm issue detected during the combine, will keep his name in the NBA draft pool.
Andrew White III will return to the Nebraska men's basketball team next season after removing his name from the NBA draft.
