Marquette held Murray State to 31.3 percent shooting from the field in its win on Saturday. That's the lowest shooting percentage by a Marquette opponent in a Men's Basketball Championship game since Arkansas shot 31.2 percent to beat Marquette in the 2nd round of the 1995-96 tournament. Those are the 2 best games for which we have documented box scores for Marquette (covering all but their NCAA appearance in 1954-55) for Marquette in terms of opponents field goal percentage. The 1995-96 game rates a hair better-- 31.16% to 31.25%.
