EVANSVILLE, Ind. -- Ceola Clark scored 19 points, Don McAvoy added nine points and a career-high 11 rebounds, and Western Illinois beat Buffalo 67-58 on Friday night at the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic.
The back-and-forth game featured six ties and 13 lead changes before Western Illinois took the lead for good shortly after halftime. A 13-3 run, capped by two McAvoy free throws, put the Leathernecks ahead 50-40, and WIU would later lead by as many as 13.
Western Illinois shot 46 percent from the field, while Buffalo made 39 percent of its shots.
