CHARLESTON, S.C. -- Andrew Lawrence made a go-ahead 3-pointer with 26 seconds left and College of Charleston rallied late to beat Furman 60-56 on Saturday.
College of Charleston trailed 54-49 with 2:34 left in the game after Furman's Bryant Irwin made a free throw. But the Cougars (10-4, 2-0 Southern Conference) scored nine straight points, highlighted by the 3-pointer by Lawrence, who broke a 54-54 tie.
Anthony Stitt, who led College of Charleston with 14 points, made two free throws with 10 seconds left to give the Cougars enough cushion with 59-54 advantage. Lawrence finished with 13 points, Anthony Thomas had 10 points and Willis Hall grabbed 11 rebounds.
College of Charleston has won five consecutive games.
