DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Marques Oliver scored a career-high 24 points on 9-for-10 shooting to help Delaware State down Bethune-Cookman 68-52 in a Mid-Eastern Conference game Saturday.
Miles Bowman scored 11 points and Albert Thomas added a career-high 10 assists for Delaware State (8-10, 3-1).
Ahead 9-7 at the 9:01 mark, Delaware State closed out the period with a 24-10 run to take a 33-17 lead into halftime. Oliver scored 16 points in the period.
Bethune-Cookman (7-14, 2-4) got as close as 37-27 on Paul Scotland's 3-pointer with 16:56 left in the second half, but Delaware State answered using a 21-11 run to take a 58-38 lead, capped by Tyshawn Bell's layup with 6:27 remaining.
The Hornets shot 57.8 percent (26 of 45) for the game while holding the Wildcats to 27.1 percent (13 of 48).
Scotland and Adrien Coleman led the Wildcats with 13 points apiece.
