NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- Marist's Chavaughn Lewis hit a 65-foot prayer as time expired to force a second overtime and the Red Foxes went on to beat Iona 105-104 on Thursday night.
Isaiah Morton's 3-pointer with 43 seconds remaining in the second overtime put the Red Foxes ahead, 101-100. Jay Bowie and Lewis, who each finished with 21 points, added two free throws apiece to protect the lead.After Lamont Jones' jumper with 5 seconds left brought the Gaels to within 105-104, a turnover by Bowie gave the ball back to Iona for a final shot, but Sean Armand missed on a 3-point try with 3 seconds left.Adam Kemp scored 29 points and grabbed 16 rebounds to lead Marist (6-18, 3-10 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference).Jones led all scorers with 37 points.
