HUNTSVILLE, Texas -- Dontae Cannon tied the game with 3 seconds to play in regulation, then scored again with a second to play in overtime to lift McNeese State to a 59-58 win over Sam Houston State Thursday night.
Cannon finished with 19 points, eight rebounds and four assists for the Cowboys (9-12, 3-8 Southland), who had lost four in a row. It was just their second road win of the season; the other was at Texas Tech on Dec. 16.
Desharick Guidry had 11 points, making all three of his 3-point attempts, for McNeese State.
The win was McNeese State's 300th in the Southland Conference, making the Cowboys the first team to reach that mark.
