ASHEVILLE, N.C. -- Andrew Rowsey scored 24 points in leading UNC Asheville over Campbell 86-73 on Wednesday night.
Jaron Lane added 17 points and D.J. Cunningham 16, both scoring all but two of their points in the second half when the Bulldogs (12-11, 6-3 Big South) pulled away. Asheville turned up the pressure late in the first half to come back from a seven-point deficit to trail by one at the break and kept up the defensive intensity in the second half. The Bulldogs made 12 steals contributing to 19 Campbell turnovers.
The victory lifted the Bulldogs into a three-way in the conference's South Division with Coastal Carolina and Gardner-Webb. Campbell fell into a tie for second place in the North with VMI, a game behind High Point.
