HIGH POINT, N.C. -- Devante Wallace scored 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as High Point beat Campbell 56-53 Friday night to claim the Big South Conference title.
The Panthers limited Campbell (12-19, 6-10) to 38.5 percent (20-of-52) shooting, including 29.2 percent (7-of-24) from 3-point range. High Point turned 16 Campbell turnovers into 16 points and blocked six shots.
The Fighting Camels scored just two points in the final 5-plus minutes of the game, going 1 for 7 from the field with three turnovers over that span.
Reco McCarter hit a 3 with 8:08 to play, giving Campbell a 47-46 lead but Cugini responded with a 3 of his own 23 seconds later and High Point never trailed again.
Luke Moyer paced Campbell with 16 points.
