MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- Karvel Anderson scored 21 points, including 18 in the second half, and Robert Morris pulled away from Savannah State for an 86-66 win on Saturday night.
Leading 34-31 at halftime, the Colonials outscored the Tigers 52-35 in the second half. A 3-pointer from Joshua Montgomery midway through the second half cut the deficit to 56-50 for the Savannah State, but the Tigers never got any closer as Robert Morris closed the game on a 30-16 run.
Anderson found most of his offensive success with 3-pointers, connecting on 5 of 8. As a team, the Colonials were 11 of 21 from long range.
