JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Langston Hall tied a career-high with 25 points and dished out six assists as Mercer beat Jacksonville 86-49 Monday night.
Trailing by one about seven minutes into the game, Hall scored his first points of the game when he knocked down the first of a trio a 3-point baskets in a 2:23 stretch to open up a 22-16 lead. Jacksonville (4-8, 0-1 Atlantic Sun) would never lead again as closed the first half by scoring 10 straight points, including another 3 by Hall, to take a 41-29 advantage into the break.
Mercer (10-4, 1-0) opened the second half with a 33-9 run to put the game out of reach.
The Bears shot 68.9 percent from the field and 62.5 percent from 3-point range, both season highs.
Javon Dawson paced Jacksonville, which shot 27.1 percent and made just 1 of 17 (5.9 percent), with 13 points.
