JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Travis Wallace scored a season-high 26 points as North Florida defeated Kennesaw State 85-60 Monday night in the conference opener for both teams.
Wallace had 18 points in the second half. North Florida (7-7, 1-0 Atlantic Sun) had a 13-point lead at halftime. Kennesaw State would get within 12 points, 62-50 on Nate Rucker's jumper before the Ospreys closed on a 23-10 run. Wallace was 9 of 14 from the field, and 8 of 10 from the line. He scored a career-high 29 points against Kennesaw State last season.
Charles McRoy added 14 points for North Florida. It was the Ospreys' fifth-consecutive home win, and the 90th career coaching win for Matthew Driscoll.
Rucker scored 18 points, and Orlando Coleman added 13 with eight rebounds for Kennesaw State (3-11, 0-1), who have lost six straight.
